Xansa Chief Executive bullish about India

05 February 2004

IT Outsourcing and Business Process Outsourcing delivered by an integrated UK and India operation with contractually guaranteed benefits is highly relevant today

Alistair Cox, Chief Executive, Xansa, the international business process and IT services company, speaking at the NASSCOM 2004 India Leadership Forum, reinforced the company's commitment to its India operations.

Remarking on our growth, Mr. Cox says, "In India we are continuing to grow rapidly and have increased our headcount by over 50% since the start of our financial year in May. We expect to also have doubled our Indian resources by the end of the year. Xansa in India also enjoys one of the best retention rates in the BPO industry with an attrition rate of less than 7%. The average employee stays with Xansa because we recognise and encourage the need for employee development and strongly value breadth of skills and experience. We are also an innovator in the HR arena having been one of the first companies to encourage women back into the mainstream through innovative practices such as flexi-timing, working from home and a crèche facility at all its India locations."

Xansa's newly opened facilities at Noida and Chennai are fully functioning and the next phase of construction at Pune is underway to deliver further seats by the summer of 2004. Once fully built, Xansa's total capacity in India will provide 10,000 seats on a single-shift basis.

Mr. Cox emphasises the role of its India business as being increasingly important to Xansa's overall strategy. "We have been operating in India since 1989 and pioneered the balancing of onshore and offshore delivery in to the UK. We have continued to increase the scope of services offered as well as the number of clients served. Our focus in India is two-fold. Firstly, the delivery of integrated IT services to our clients combining skills from offshore with those already in place onshore. Secondly, the provision of high-value, complex back-office processes with the potential to move into front-office processes as our clients require. "

Mr. Cox sees growth in both IT and BPO services and the company is recruiting heavily to meet anticipated demand. "Growth in the BPO area has been particularly significant and we now operate ten discrete processes offshore for a number of different clients up from one a year ago. We are now the largest domestic provider of integrated on/offshore services in the UK."
